Strawberry Wine Recipe – Homemade Strawberry Wine Recipe

I love to experiment with different flavors and wine making techniques and that’s why I decided to make strawberry wine this time! To be honest with you – I never even tried Strawberry Wine before, not to mention I didn’t know which strawberry wine recipe will work well. I was lucky enough to try the first one and… it came out delicious! This is something you can definitely have fun with and experiment.

Here’s the Homemade Strawberry Wine Recipe (for 1 gallon of wine):

3.5 lbs  of Fresh Strawberries

3.5 qts of bottled or boiled and chilled Water

2 lbs of Sugar

1/8 tsp Metabisulphite (or 1 campden tablet)

1 tsp Acid blend

1 tsp Yeast nutrient

0.5 tsp Pectic Enzyme

1 Package Lalvin 1116

Homemade Strawberry Wine Recipe – How to prepare the strawberries?

Wash the strawberries, place them in a nylon straining bag and tie. Place the bag in a fermenter and crush the strawberries using a muddler or with your hands. Add sugar, acid blend and yeast nutrient in fermenter and 1 quart of boiling water. Now stir everything very well to dissolve the sugar. Add the rest of the water and Metabisulphite and stir again. After 24 h add wine yeast.

Homemade Strawberry Wine Recipe – The Fermentation Process

Each and every day you should stir the bag. After one week you should squeeze the liquid out from bag and discard. Pour the liquid into secondary fermentation vessel and place an airlock. Rack after 30 days and add another 1/8 tsp of metabisulphite and 1/2 tsp potassium sorbate. When wine will finally become clear, you can add sugar if you choose to or leave it as it is. The last thing is to bottle your freshly made Strawberry Wine – you can enjoy it straight away!

Happy Strawberry Wine Making :)
